Want to know how to succeed at your next big audition? Then this class is for you! Over the course of my
25+ year career as a performer, musical director, and vocal and acting coach I have coached hundreds of
actors into Broadway shows, national tours, regional theater productions and college theater programs
across the USA and Canada. Additionally, as a musical director I have accompanied for thousands of
auditions (often playing for over 200 auditions a day). I have seen it all: the good, the bad and the truly ugly!
I will prepare you to enter any audition room like a seasoned Broadway veteran. From the first impression to
landing a call-back, you will be ready for your next big audition! This class will feature a special guest artist
performer direct from NYC who will share with you how to navigate multiple auditions in one day.
Thursday, July 9, 7pm-8:30pm
With “live-and-in-person” auditions cancelled, many theater companies have moved to accepting self-taped
auditions. And if you are planning to audition for film and television projects, all of your auditions will be
self-submitted. I will show you the in’s and outs of how to create professional submissions and how to wade
through the many casting websites including Actors Access, 1-800-Casting, Agency Pro and more. This is
both an acting class and a technical (lights, camera, and video editing) class in one! This class will feature a
special guest artist Broadway casting director!
Monday, July 13, 7pm-8:30pm
So many auditions are blown because actors get stuck in their head and have trouble controlling their
nerves. In this very entertaining 2-part class I will delve deep into the psychology of auditioning and help you
to understand what you can and cannot control in the audition room. This class will feature a guest artist
Broadway and television performer who will share how he got out of his head and found audition success!
Wednesday, July 15, 7pm-8:30pm
Audition Psych Part 2. The big finale to the psychology behind succeeding at auditions. This class will feature
a special guest artist NYC talent agent who will share with you the perspective of the “other side of the
table” at auditions!
Kevin Jones has been working in and out of professional theater for over 25 years. He began his career
performing in the European tour of Annie Get Your Gun, followed by an off-Broadway run of
Annual Heart of Texas Exzema Telethon. After a few years of being a successful working actor, Kevin landed
a gig musical directing a production of Evita. He went on to conduct two more productions of
productions of Phantom, and a host of other shows across the country. Kevin toured in the orchestra pit
with the 1st and 4th national tours of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and the Asian tour of
Tony winner Ron Holgate and a young Ashley Tisdale). Kevin has worn just about every hat in the theater
during his career -director, musical director, choreographer, casting director, artistic director, stage
manager, follow spot operator, marketing director, development director, education coordinator. Over the
past 25+ years he has amassed one of the largest private collections of Broadway scores, plays, and
screenplays in the country (over 50,000 songs). Kevin coaches performers from Broadway to Hollywood to
London’s West End preparing them for their next big audition.
