2019 KJPAS 21st Annual Residential Theater Camp
For Rising 4th thru
Graduating 12th Graders June 30 - July 6,
2019 (Sunday 3pm thru Saturday 12pm)
Through professional training in acting, singing, and
dancing, each camper will learn the skills you need to know
to make it in this business. Leadership includes director
Kevin Jones and his talented, professional team from KJPAS.
We have been running highly successful acting and musical
theater day and residential camps for the past 21 years!
You will truly be amazed at the quality of the final showcase
performance after just a week of camp! As a bonus, professional
NYC quality headshots will be taken of each camper (which
are literally worth more than the price of camp itself!).
Professional Theatrical Training and Workshops include:
Acting for Film and Television (on-camera class); Audition
Techniques (how to get cast); The Business of Acting (how
to avoid scams); Improvisation and Theater Games (how to
think fast on your feet); How to Survive a Dance-Call (if
you are called back at an audition to dance); Vocal Projection
(how to safely project your voice without damaging your
vocal cords); Character Development (how to create a believable
character); Theater Dance; Headshot/Resume/Bio Workshop,
KJPAS is delighted to continue our Broadway Master class
series which will be led by guest Broadway performers! You
can view the full list of our past guest artists by clicking
on the “Broadway Masterclass Series” link on the right side
bar of the main camp page.
NEW for 2019, we are relocating our residential camp
to the home of our Winter Camp, the Smith Mountain Lake
4H Conference Center! This move has allowed us to extend
our camp to a full 7 days (after several years of camper
requests!). We will also have the opportunity to engage
in more “camp” activities at the 4H Center including swimming,
hiking, putt-putt golf, canoeing, kayaking, archery, and
wall climbing. The FREE public performance will take place
on Saturday, July 6 at 11am.
Our rental of the 4H Conference Center includes a full-time
staff of cooks and kitchen servers, lifeguards, a nurse,
and activity supervisors for each camp activity that we
participate in. The 4H Center is accredited by the American
Camping Association. KJPAS campers will be kept safe and
well cared for!
All campers receive a FREE professional NYC quality full-color
headshot, resume and bio, a FREE KJPAS Camp Tee Shirt and
a FREE Vimeo link to their camp showcase performance!
KJPAS campers and faculty, as well as a male and female
head counsellor/program director all reside in central air-conditioned
Flora and Svoboda Lodges at the 4H Center. KJPAS campers
will enjoy three delicious camp meals in the dining hall
each day, as well as plenty of snacks throughout the week!
On Saturday, July 6, dismissal is at 12pm following our
11am showcase performance.
Camp Tuition: By May 1 = $675; after May
1 = $750
